trump has brought neoliberalism to an end - he's a nationalist not a
conservative - in my view it will bring the demise of liberalism in all
its forms (including those protective of individual rights) across all
of what used to be called the west - i mean if le pen prevails in
france all security council members are nationalistic and increasingly
authoritarian - the old allies against fascism have all turned
fascists! �you could make an exception for the so patriotic uk
remaining a liberal democracy of sorts - but with nigel farage as
ambassador to the united reich of greater america.. verhoefstadt
possibly europe's most eminent liberal has said one clown in washington
was enough - i mean it tells you the measure of the atlantic rift and
the terminal crisis of liberalism that won't be solved by angie merkel
(even if she wins again: will she, dear germanophones?) - england
remains anti-putin for the time being tho and probably will remain so
because it traditionally opposes continental hegemony
this rambling to say the trump is neither neoliberal nor
neoconservative - he's a new kind of fascism which breaks with liberal
tradition either in economics (he's protectionist) or in politics (he's
racist) - national populism as the 21st century equivalent of 20th
century national socialism, if you will - like all aspiring dictators
he's not immune to laughter - let's just make sure we'll have the last
laugh with this bastard and his transnational network of authoritarian
regimes - even if it takes a decade
